Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Therapist
"Meanings are not determined by situations, but we determine ourselves by the meanings we give to situations.”
Alfred Adler
About Me
I am a LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker), and received my Master's degree in Social Work in 2013 (NYU Silver School of Social Work). I have worked with children, teens and adults in a variety of settings, including community centers, outpatient service clinics and healthcare settings.
In the last ten years I have worked primarily with adults and older adults on issues of depression, anxiety, and adjustment.
My Approach
Dealing with life changes can be challenging and overwhelming for anyone. As a therapist, my role is to provide a supportive and accepting setting in which people may gain a better understanding of themselves and find more effective ways to cope. I believe the basis for the therapeutic process is the human connection that gets created. This relationship develops in the shared space and time through an open conversation that allows a deep observation into the challenging issues of everyday life. I utilize an integrative approach to therapy, combining
techniques from Relational Therapy, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Narrative Therpay and other treatment modalities.
Together we could identify what serves you, what barriers may get in the way, and find ways to better cope with change and hardship.
I specialize in life changes,
adjustments, and relationship challenges
Young Adults
Embarking on the journey to adulthood can be rough and confusing; it's often a time of transition, decision making, and identity search. I have gained experience helping young adults gain a deeper understanding of themselves, their dreams and goals, and to set a plan towards these.
Adults
Throughout my career, I have worked with people coping with relationship issues, career challenges, caregiving issues, parenting and more. Together we can address your worries and work towards more effective coping.
Older Adults
Older Adulthood is often a time of change and transition, a time for reflection and deeper exploration. I have gained experience working with people around issues related to adjusting to retirement, changing relationships, memory loss of a loved one, to mention a few.
